TESTIMONIAL

"At the beginning of my small business journey, our budget was limited. Our products received great reviews and positive feedback but our branding and packaging left much to be desired. I knew that to be taken seriously in the market, I needed a striking logo and innovative packaging to stand out from other gourmet confectioners. I enrolled in a small business class and, during the first day, was asked to share a bit about my business and biggest needs. That is when I was introduced to Mark Orton, Chief Corrections Officer of The Design Police.

Mark kindly offered to help me design a logo and custom packaging at a price that would fit within my budget. This incredibly timely and generous offer was a blessing, and I immediately took him up on it.

During our initial meeting, I shared my improvised branding—my basic burlap bag tied at the top with a black and white logo sticker, featuring the name MountainLand Caramels and a simple mountain clip art. Mark didn’t critique it negatively; instead, he simply said, "Now we have your baseline, so let’s work together to make it exceptional." He asked if I was set on "MountainLand" as my name, considering many other businesses shared similar names. I wanted to keep it, so he explained we’d aim to make MountainLand a standout brand not just in my niche but in the broader marketplace.

DP took the time to understand my target customers—beyond demographics, they wanted to know where, when, and how they would enjoy my caramels—and what made my product unique. I emphasized that my ingredients were top-quality, fresh, and preservative-free. They also asked about the packaging ideas I had, and I mentioned I thought a cylindrical design would make a strong statement.

Using this information, DP crafted several concepts, regularly seeking my feedback along the way. After hours of dedicated effort, they presented the finished logo and packaging design, and I was thrilled with the results.

I quickly ordered the packaging based on their specifications and was so pleased when it arrived—ready to showcase my caramels and attract my ideal audience. Almost immediately, I received glowing feedback that my logo and packaging matched the high quality of my candies and truly made a statement.

I am incredibly grateful to the Design Police for their masterful work, which helped elevate my brand and differentiate my products in a competitive market. I highly recommend them to any business seeking a compelling visual identity and a way to captivate their target customers.”
